Chatki Reviewed: Filters Without a Login
Most free random chat drops you into pure chance. Chatki lets you narrow by country and gender before you start, and asks for no account to do it.
By proceeding, I confirm I am 18+ and agree to the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
Filters Before You Start
Country and gender preferences narrow the match pool before the first connection, which is the single biggest difference between Chatki and a pure roulette.
No Registration Screen
There is no profile to create and no login. Grant camera and microphone permission and the session starts on its own, with your identity kept private.
Genuinely Global
Users span 190 or more countries with people online around the clock, so the country filter is doing real work rather than narrowing an empty pool.
HD Cam To Cam
Video quality is a stated priority and it shows. A stranger chat is only worth having if you can actually see and hear the person.
Is Chatki Free? The Filter Question
The core service is free with no subscription and no paywall in front of matching. You open it, allow permissions, and you are connected.
The filters are where accounts differ. Some sources describe the gender preference as working in the standard free version with no payment needed. Others describe a freemium model where basic matching is free but the gender filter sits behind premium.
Worth knowing before you commit to anything: test the gender filter on the free tier first and see which of those two descriptions matches what you actually get. It is the feature people come to Chatki for, so it is the one worth verifying rather than assuming.

Start FreeWhy Filters Change Random Chat
Unfiltered random chat has a brutal arithmetic. If you want to talk to someone who speaks your language and is a gender you are interested in, you may click next twenty times to get there.
A country filter is really a language filter wearing a disguise, and it removes most of that waste. A gender filter removes the rest. Together they turn a slot machine into something closer to a search.
That is why LuckyCrush can charge men by the minute purely for guaranteeing the opposite gender. Chatki offers the same class of control without a meter running, which is a materially different proposition.
No Filter Paywall to Worry About
Open it and see who is online, without checking what tier you are on first.
Try FreeWhere Chatki Falls Short
Filters narrow the pool, and a narrowed pool is a smaller pool. Stack country and gender together at a quiet hour and you will wait noticeably longer for a match than you would unfiltered.
The inconsistent reporting on what the free tier actually includes is itself a mark against it. When independent reviews disagree about whether the headline feature costs money, the pricing is not being communicated clearly.
And like most of this category it is lightly moderated compared to services that lead on safety. Fast anonymous matching with no account is convenient for you and equally convenient for anyone behaving badly.

Open ChatChatki Compared to the Alternatives
Omegle closed in November 2023 with an interest tag and little else. Everything that replaced it competes on some combination of speed, filtering, moderation and price.
Against LuckyCrush the comparison is direct and unflattering to LuckyCrush. Both offer gender control. LuckyCrush charges men per minute for it and Chatki does not run a meter at all.
Against Thundr the trade is filtering versus moderation. Thundr screens the live stream with AI and human review but does not offer this level of pre-match control. Pick whichever problem you actually have.
If you want to compare them properly, the chat below is free, needs no account, and does not meter your time.
